We did it!!

Well, I am pleased to say our first fair was a success and Jane and myself are itching to do another!
We were lucky with the weather, although it rained heavily on the way to set up afterwards we had dry and sunny weather. The venue was lovely and had exactly the vintage vibe we wanted.
(Jane made the bunting)
I would like to thank Jane - without her enthusiastic promoting of the fair it could have been so different. Also, we couldn't have done it without my husband and son delivering hundreds of leaflets and helping to set up on the day, Jane's husband for helping to set up and pack up, our friend Kerry for her help with various things including flowers and especially for morale support and advice. We were lucky to have some brilliant stall holders and thanks to those that stayed to help clear up. And to Brian and Liz of Broadwater Community Association for their help and advice.
Thanks to everyone who came and made our first fair such a great one.
Here are some pics of the day
(Thanks to Sam for the photos)

That's all folks!

Whoo hoo! We are fully paid up for the craft fair - the last payment and booking form arrived today. To say I'm nervous is an understatement!
We have such great stallholders that there really is nothing to be so nervous about really.
Today the spotlight is on Sarah of Patch Unique. Sarah makes gorgeous items in lovely colourways. See here for her Facebook page.

Fully Booked

Can you believe it? A couple of weeks ago I was worried we'd only have a couple of stalls for people to look around and now we're turning people away (well, adding them to a waiting list anyway)!

We will have a wide range of goods for sale, including

Bags
Jewellery (and a jewellery making workshop for youngsters)
Vintage
Cards
Christmas decorations
Accessories
Candles
Ribbons, Buttons, Notions
Books (craft)
Painted pebbles
Mounted prints
And more...
I hope to be able to show you some of the things we'll be selling soon.

Jane and myself are SO excited and determined to make it a success for both sellers and buyers. The venue is perfect for the look we want and Jane has been valiantly making bunting, accosting crafty types and giving out our business cards!
Only five weeks to go now...

Graeme Telford Photography

Not long now to the fair (I actually have butterflies in my tummy as I write this!) so time to begin the best bit - focusing on the stallholders.

First up is the talented Graeme Telford who takes really super photos, below are a just few from his portfolio.
I especially love the picture of the sheep.
Graeme will be selling cards and prints of his images.
You can contact Graeme here.
I have fallen in love with a photo of a deer in a bluebell wood (two of my favourite things!) that I shall be treating myself to if I make a profit at the fair (where better to spend it?!).
Look forward to seeing you on the 17th November Graeme.
(PS. Graeme is exhibiting some of his work at Green Cuisine during October).

For Research Purposes Only (really!)...

Here we are in October already - September has been a very busy month -who’d have thought there was such a lot to do to try and arrange a Craft Fair?!
I have travelled far and wide visiting Craft fairs and Vintage Emporiums -greatly enjoying myself in the process getting lots of ideas for our fair and making some wonderful purchases too!
I travelled by train on Saturday to Chichester to visit the Vintage and Very Nice Vintage Market Bazaar - Suzanne had visited it in July and I couldn’t wait to visit it myself - I was very impressed with the selection of stalls and stallholders - even gave out some of our posters and business cards!
Looking forward to this month getting ready for our first fair - as Autumn has arrived it feels time to start thinking “Christmassy” in the craft sense at least!

It's Really Going to Happen!

Not a recent picture!
Today Jane and I visited our venue for the Christmas Fair and finalised details with the very helpful Liz and Brian from Broadwater Community Association. Jane, Liz and Brian were very patient when I insisted on setting up all the tables to see how many we could fit in and the best arrangement so thank you to them! The Broadwater Parish Rooms will make a perfect venue for our fair, it was built in 1891 and has a lovely interior with original parquet flooring and green paintwork!
This shows just a corner of the hall, we can't wait to decorate with bunting and all manner of christmassy things! We're hoping to persuade someone to play a few tunes on that piano too.
Click on the Stallholder tab if you are interested in booking a stall.
